Within your online academy, it is possible to add managers. These managers gain insight into their (group of) users and can monitor their progress through My Team.
How do I make someone a manager?
A manager is a user with management permissions. Before you can assign someone as a manager, they must first have a user account. On the user profile, you can find the user's status in the bottom right corner. Here, you can specify whether the user is also a manager.
Management rights
Once you have assigned the manager status to a user and saved it, a “Management rights” tab will appear on that user’s detail page. Here, you can specify exactly which users the manager has management rights over. This can be configured in different ways: based on the organisational structure, based on teams, or based on individual users.
Organisational structure (companies or departments)
On the left side of the page, you can configure the management structure based on the organisational structure. This allows you to grant a manager rights over an entire company or specific departments within a company. All users falling under this company or department will automatically be linked to the respective manager.
Teams
By granting a manager management rights over a team, the manager gains access to all users within that team. Use the search bar to find the name of the team you want to grant the manager access to, and select the team from the list of results. Do you want the manager to have access to this team only, and not to an entire company or department? Uncheck all companies and departments under the organisational structure.
Individual users
On the right side of the page, you can configure the management structure based on individual users. Search for the user using the search field and select their name to grant the manager rights over this user. Do you want the manager to have access to these individual users only? Make sure that no companies or departments are selected under the organisational structure, and that no teams have been checked either.
It is also possible to assign someone as manager of individual users via an import file.
Organisation structure
The organisational structure also provides insight into which managers have access to specific parts of the structure. You can view this via the Managers tab of the relevant section. This tab displays a list of managers. Use the '+' icon in the top right corner to add managers, and the bin icon to remove them.
What can a manager do?
When managers log in to their account, they will see an additional option in their menu bar: "My Team" This page displays the same information as the "My Team" page for administrators. However, only the users the manager has access to, are visible here. The users a manager can see here depend on the management rights as described above.
On the "My Team" page, managers can gain insight into the progress and development of their users. How far along is each person with an e-learning course? Are my users primarily learning via the app or on the web? Who has not yet met the required qualifications? Managers receive real-time insight into all this data.
