A reflection question can be used to make the user reflect on something. Because of the reflection component of the question, these questions will not be seen as exam questions; the answer will not be marked as right or wrong. For this reason, these questions are only suitable for users to reflect on themselves or on what they have learned.

This type of question is ideal for encouraging users to reflect on a specific topic and supporting the learning process.

How do I add a reflection question?

  1. Open the e-learning or microlearning you want to add the learning format to via "Content", and click "Edit".

  2. Select the learning format "Reflection".

  3. Add a title and optionally a description. The reflection will be saved as a learning format in the Warehouse based on the title.

  4. Choose the type of answer options you want to add. You can choose 'Text', 'Scale', or 'Single select' which respectively provide a text box for the user to type an answer, a scale where you add labels, or a multiple-choice question where you provide answer options. None of the reflection questions have right or wrong answers. Reflection questions are solely intended to encourage the user to think or reflect on a statement or question.

  5. Optionally, add feedback. You can add feedback that users will see after answering the question. Here, you can describe an overarching response that helps the user reflect on the given answer and supports their learning process.

This feedback will be the same for all users, regardless of the answer the user will give.

Tip!

You can add learning objectives and tags to learning formats. Learning objectives are useful for creating exams based on specific objectives. By using tags, you can easily find content in the Warehouse. As you start typing, suggestions will appear for learning objectives and tags you have previously used.
