You can duplicate learning formats and learning activities. This article explains how this is done and when you might use this duplicate feature.

Duplicating a learning activity can be useful when you want to translate it. It can also be useful when creating a new version of a learning activity, and the old version is to be saved. Here, duplicating the learning formats is also useful to ensure that they are only modified in the new version of the learning activity.

Learning formats can be duplicated in two ways: from within a learning activity and from within the Warehouse. Both methods are explained below. A learning activity can only be duplicated in one way. This will also be explained below.

It is possible that one learning format is used in multiple learning activities. There are two ways for editing a learning format that appears in multiple learning activities:

When you click ‘Duplicate’, you will remain within the learning activity and you can edit the learning format in that location. You can adjust the title of the learning format so that you can easily find the edited learning format later in the Warehouse.

If you click ‘Edit in Warehouse, you will be redirected to that specific learning format in the Warehouse. You can then edit the learning format from within the Warehouse. The learning format will then be adjusted in all learning activities where it is incorporated. On the left side, under the ‘Statistics’ heading, you can see in which learning activities the learning format is incorporated.

By searching for the learning format from within the Warehouse, you can also duplicate it. To achieve this, open the learning format and click the duplicate icon in the top right corner. You can adjust the new title of the learning format to make it easier to find later in the Warehouse.

The following types of learning activities can be entirely duplicated:

In the new version of the learning activity, you can also duplicate the learning formats so that changes to the learning format only affect the new version of the learning activity.
