With Brainpower, users can train their knowledge. This article explains how users can get started. Later in the article, we explain how users can view their results and knowledge level.
Starting a Brainpower training
Users can start a Brainpower training session in two ways, depending on how such a collection is set up.
Navigate directly to Brainpower: scroll down to the “Directly to” section on the dashboard. Click on the Brainpower option.
Start a Brainpower collection integrated into an e-learning module: open the relevant e-learning and click the Brainpower icon in the top right corner.

Both methods lead to the screen below, where the user can start the training. There, they can select the collection(s) they want to train. In the next step, they choose the number of questions they want to receive in the training session. By default, the number of questions is set to 10, but users can adjust this.
Is it an integrated collection? Then the user can choose to select specific parts of the e-learning they want to train.
Tip!
We recommend choosing 'Select all' by default, so you train all learning objectives in the collection.
Results: Insight into knowledge level
At the end of a training session, the user sees their progress on the learning objectives that have been covered in Brainpower training sessions (and in the integrated e-learning) up to that point. This may look as follows:
Boxes
The boxes represent the number of learning objectives in the collection. By hovering the cursor over the boxes, the user can see the name of each learning objective. The colours indicate the following:
Grey: no knowledge retention or knowledge level yet for this learning objective.
Light blue: knowledge retention has been built up for this learning objective.
Dark blue: there is a high knowledge level for this learning objective.
Knowledge level
By answering questions related to learning objectives correctly over a longer period of time and across multiple training sessions, the user’s knowledge level increases, and the knowledge is stored in their long-term memory. The user has mastered this learning objective. If the user stops training for a while, the knowledge level percentage will decline.
Knowledge retention
The level of knowledge retention indicates that a learning objective has been trained and that at least some questions related to that objective have been answered correctly. The user has trained these learning objectives. The knowledge retention value never decreases.
Analytics from an integrated collection at an e-learning
If a collection is integrated with an e-learning module, the user can view detailed analytics. These analytics can be accessed by clicking the growth icon in the top right corner:
The user will then see, for each part of the e-learning, which learning objectives are included and which of these have already been mastered. The user also sees the progress of the e-learning, the knowledge retention, and the knowledge level.
