In the online academy, there is a training tool, with a smart algorithm, that allows users to train their knowledge: Brainpower. Continue reading to learn how you, as a user, can get started with Brainpower.
Starting a Brainpower training
There are two ways you can start a Brainpower training, depending on how the collection is curated.
At the bottom of the dashboard, under 'Go to,' you will find the option to access Brainpower:
When a collection is integrated with an e-learning, you can find it within the e-learning by clicking on the Brainpower icon at the top right:
Both methods will lead you to the screen below, where you can start the training. Here, choose the collection(s) you want to train. In the next step, you select the number of questions you want to receive in the training. By default, the number of questions is set to 10, but this can be adjusted.
Is it an integrated collection? Then you can choose to make a selection of sections from the e-learning that you want to train.
Tip: We recommend choosing 'Select all' by default, so you train all learning objectives in the collection.
Results and analytics of Brainpower; Tracking your progress and knowledge level
At the end of the training, you will see your progress on the learning objectives that you have covered so far in Brainpower trainings (and in the integrated e-learning). It may look like this:
Boxes
The boxes represent the number of learning objectives in the collection. By hovering your cursor over the boxes, it will display the name of the learning objective. The colors indicate the following:
路 Gray: There is no knowledge intake or knowledge level for this learning objective.
路 Light blue: You have built knowledge intake for this learning objective.
路 Dark blue: You have a high level of knowledge for this learning objective.
Knowledge level
Over time, by answering questions from learning objectives correctly in different trainings, your knowledge level increases, and the knowledge is stored in your long-term memory. You master this learning objective. If you don't train for a while, the percentage for knowledge level may decrease.
Knowledge intake
The knowledge intake indicates that you have trained on learning objectives, and at least have answered a certain number of questions related to those objectives correctly. You have trained on these learning objectives. The number for knowledge intake never decreases.
Analytics from an integrated collection at an e-learning
if a collection is integrated with an e-learning, you can view detailed analytics for it. To access the analytics, click on the growth icon at the top right of the screen:
Next, you will see for each section of the e-learning, which learning objectives are covered, and which of these you have already mastered. You can also track the progress, knowledge intake, and knowledge level for the e-learning.
