Do you want the user to receive a certificate upon completing a learning activity or Learning Playlist? You can set this up using the certificate feature. The user can download this certificate from their completed learning activities. In this article will be explained how to configure the certificate functionality.

How do I configure the user to receive a certificate?

You can configure for each learning activity, whether a user receives a certificate upon completing it. By default, this setting is disabled when creating a new learning activity.

Open the learning activity through 'Courses' and go to the 'Settings' tab. If you want the user to receive a certificate upon completing this learning activity, you can enable the toggle switch for 'User receives certificate upon completion’.

How do I configure the look & feel of the certificate?

You can upload a background for the certificate. Here's a step-by-step guide on how this is done:

  • Go to 'Settings' in the menu. This is the gear icon in the menu bar.

  • Click on the 'Design' tab.

  • In the bottom-left corner, you'll find the 'Certificate' section. Here, you can upload a background that matches your corporate identity, for the certificate. For this, use an image format such as .jpg

Below is an example. The white area contains the user's information and the successfully completed learning activity. This part of the certificate is generated automatically. You only need to provide the background image to us. The best resolution for the background is 842 x 595 pixels.

Please note!

To customize the design of your online academy, you need the appropriate permissions, namely 'Manage basic settings' and 'Manage design.' Read this article on roles and permissions to learn how to achieve this.

How can I see what the certificate will look like?

To view the certificate as a user would, you can complete a learning activity where the certificate is set up as a test user. The easiest option for this is a short microlearning course. You can find instructions on how to test a learning activity as a user in this article. Once you've completed the learning activity, you can download the certificate by clicking on the certificate icon in the completed activities.

Certificates in different languages

In the online academy, you can set different languages for both the user and the administrator. The default text on the certificate will be displayed in the language associated with the user's account.

As an administrator or manager, how can I view a user's certificate?

You can view a user's certificate through My Team as an administrator or manager. To do this, you would search for the user via Team members. On the user's page, you can then locate the relevant learning activity through Learning activities. If the user has a certificate for this learning activity, you can open it by clicking on the certificate icon within the tile of the learning activity.
