What are learning objectives?
Within your online academy, you can add one or more learning objectives to each learning format you create. A learning objective is a characteristic that indicates what the learning format covers and is the very thing that the learner should have learned after completing it. You can add learning objectives to categorize your learning formats. They are also used in assessments and Brainpower.
Learning objectives in your online academy
Learning objectives can serve the following purposes.
By adding learning objectives to each learning format, you can easily categorize and find learning formats in the Warehouse.
You can use learning objectives in an assessment matrix, to generate a test based on the selected learning objectives.
You can use learning objectives in Brainpower, allowing users to train and assess their mastery of the learning objectives.
How do I create learning objectives?
You can create and assign learning objectives when creating a new learning format. This can be done either via a learning activity or the Warehouse. When creating a learning format, you can enter a learning objective under ‘Learning objectives’.
If the learning objective already exists, it will appear, and you can select it. Does it not exist yet? Then, it will be created immediately after you choose ‘Create learning objective’.
Exemplary learning objectives
A learning objective may look like this:
The user knows [the 12 provinces of the Netherlands].
The user can describe in their own words [how an internal combustion engine works].
The user can explain [how impressionistic characteristics are reflected in a painting].
The user can [formulate additional rules based on existing rules].
