When developing an e-learning, it can be helpful to work from an established foundation. Within the academy, you can use a template as a starting point. As an administrator, you can create this template by marking an e-learning as a template. This allows the e-learning to serve as the basis for new e-learning. Additionally, when creating a new e-learning, you can choose to either start from a template or create an entirely blank e-learning.
A template serves as a foundation for creating new e-learnings. It is not possible to enroll users in a template.
Marking an E-learning as a template
To mark an e-learning as a template, follow these steps:
Navigate to 'Courses' in the menu bar.
Open the e-learning you want to turn into a template.
Go to 'Settings'.
In the 'Template section, click 'Use as template'.
Confirm that you want to turn the e-learning into a template.
You will be redirected to the newly created template.
Here, you can edit the title.
To make further changes to the template, click 'Edit Template'.
The template will have the same content as the e-learning it is based on. This means that the learning formats included in the template will also exist in the original e-learning. When editing the template, it is important to decide whether the changes should apply only to the template or to all instances where the learning format appears.
To edit learning formats in the template, follow these steps:
Click 'Edit template'.
Select the section and paragraph where you want to modify a learning format.
Click the pencil icon next to the learning format you want to edit.
Since the learning format may be used in multiple places, you will be presented with two options:
Duplicate: This creates a copy of the learning format, and the changes will apply only to the template you are currently working on.
Edit in warehouse: This modifies the learning format in all locations where it is used, including the original e-learning.
